Course Details
8-week centre training leading to a City & Guilds qualification and preparation for NVQ Level 2, covering health and safety, half-brick corners, cavity walls in brick and block, 1-brick English bond, basket-weave feature, attached and detached piers, raking and cutting, cavity wall with window opening, gable end, circular arch or decorative panel, and garden wall with attached piers. NVQ assessed separately by CST Training. Shorter City & Guilds 3-week certificate and 6-week extended programme also offered. EWPA/OSAT routes for experienced bricklayers.
Duration
NVQ training course: 8 Weeks (Monday to Friday 08.30-16.00) or 10 Weekends + 9 Day Block + 5 Weekends (Saturday to Sunday 08.30-16.00). City & Guilds Bricklaying Course: 3 Weeks FT or 8 Weekends. Extended Bricklaying Programme: 6 Weeks FT or 10 Weekends + 9 Day Block. EWPA/OSAT: Varies.
Entry Requirements
NVQ training, City & Guilds and Extended programmes: None (per course tables). EWPA: 2 Years working history (course table); page also states this route is available for workers with a minimum of five years bricklaying experience. OSAT: Industry Experience.
