Course Details
Level 1 Diploma units: health, safety and welfare in construction; principles of building construction, information and communication; contribute to setting out and building of masonry structures up to DPC; carrying out brick laying activities; carrying out block laying activities; carrying out cavity walling activities. Each unit has an externally set assessment. Course suitability test within the first six weeks. New £1m Brickwork Centre. Trade Academy guarantees a work placement with a local employer.
Duration
Level 1: 1 Year (Diploma) or 6 Months (Award). Level 2 full-time/part-time: 1 Year. Level 2 Apprenticeship: 24 Months. Craft Bricklayer Level 3 Apprenticeship: 18 Months.
Entry Requirements
Level 1: all applicants required to complete a suitability assessment and interview with a specialist tutor; enthusiasm and commitment required.
