Course Details
Bricklaying Level 1 study programme: core employability skills with a broad understanding of bricklaying; measuring, estimating, drawing out plans, laying bricks and blocks. Designed to increase employability and prepare for a bricklaying apprenticeship or full-time Level 2. Apprenticeship delivered at The Leys College: lay bricks, blocks and other components; construct and repair walls, foundations, partitions, arches, chimney stacks; may refurbish brickwork and masonry on restoration projects.
Duration
Bricklayer Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard: 36 Weeks part-time (per apprenticeship page).
Entry Requirements
Apprenticeship: over 16 and employed in a relevant role. Minimum requirements prior to starting for 16-18 year olds: Grade 1 in maths and 1 in English Language or English Literature; alternatively a Functional Skills Level 1 or equivalent in both.
