Course Details
Foundation Apprenticeship blends on-site learning with college-based training: setting out, laying brick and blockwork, interpreting drawings, health and safety, sustainable construction practices and workplace responsibilities in Wales. Delivered in partnership with employers. Full-time bricklaying courses also offered at Ammanford covering blockwork, bricklaying techniques, structural and decorative brickwork. New Level 2 foundation apprenticeships in carpentry and bricklaying start from September 2026 at Ammanford and Cardigan; existing Level 3 pathways replaced for 2026 entry, with Level 3 expected to return in 2027.
Duration
Foundation Apprenticeship: 24 months (part time)
Entry Requirements
Designed for individuals aged 16 and over who are employed in a relevant role (per college news on the new Level 2 pathways).
