Course Details
Level 1: set out and construct block walling, brick walling with a racked back corner, and cavity walling using hand tools. Units: knowledge of construction technology; setting out for basic masonry structures; construct block walling; construct brick walling; construct cavity walling; Functional Skills English and Maths. Level 3 Craft Bricklayer: set out and lay bricks, brick specials, blocks and other materials for complex walls and features such as chimneys, battered, angled, radial and decorative masonry; day release; EPA.
Duration
Level 3 Craft Bricklayer Apprenticeship: 18 months. Learners attend Doncaster College on a day release basis; minimum of 6 hours per week towards the apprenticeship standard.
Entry Requirements
Level 1: Grade 3 in Maths or English (the other must be a Grade 1 or 2 minimum); genuine interest in bricklaying; successful interview.
