Course Details
All construction courses taught at purpose-built Aldershot College. Level 2 C&G Diploma: expand existing knowledge from a Level 1 programme; units include H&S, principles of building construction, interpreting working drawings, thin joint masonry and masonry cladding, solid walling and piers, cavity walling; two weeks work experience. Apprenticeship: lay bricks, blocks and other components; construct and repair walls, foundations, partitions, arches, chimney stacks.
Duration
Level 2 Diploma: 1 Year. Apprenticeship Standard Bricklayer: 2.5 Years.
Entry Requirements
Level 2 Diploma: for students progressing from the level 1 course. From school: four GCSEs at grades 3 and above (including English and maths). From college: relevant level 1 qualification at merit grade or higher (to include English and maths at level 1 or higher).
