Course Details

Level 1 introduction: laying bricks, mixing mortar, building simple walls; units include carrying out bricklaying activities and cavity walling activities; 80% practical, 20% theory. Level 2: advanced techniques including cavity walling, decorative features and interpreting construction drawings. Craft Bricklayer apprenticeship: complex and decorative masonry including chimneys, radial walls and decorative features; one day per week at college and four days with employer.

Entry Requirements

Level 1: Maths and English at 2(E) or above. Level 2: 4 x GCSEs at grade 3(D) or above, including Maths and English. Craft Bricklayer: Maths and English at 4(C) or above.
