Course Details
L2 Diploma (in person, Exeter): constructing cavity walls and solid walls; construction health and safety; setting out masonry structures; construction principles; thin joint masonry; move, handle and store resources; mixing construction materials; modern technology in construction. Designed for achievement in a training environment (employment not required). L3 Diploma: repair and maintain masonry structures; chimney and fireplace structures; complex masonry structures; decorative features. Apprenticeship: knowledge, skills and behaviours for the Bricklayer standard with End-Point Assessment.
Duration
L2 Diploma in Bricklaying (Exeter page): 4 months. L3 Diploma in Bricklaying (Exeter page): 4 months. Diploma in Bricklaying Level 2 (multi-academy page): 9-18 Months. Bricklayer Level 2 apprenticeship course sheet: 24-30 months.
Entry Requirements
L2 Diploma (Exeter page): no formal entry requirements; can be undertaken without previous training or qualifications in this subject area. Diploma in Bricklaying Level 2 (multi-academy page): 16+ and have lived in UK or EU for the last 3 years, depending on status; successful candidates invited to interview.

FEES & FUNDING
Construction Skills Academy page: almost all of the training on offer is free due to the course being partly funded by the European Social Fund, Adult Education Budget and other associated funding streams; some courses may not be funded but can be paid for with an Advanced Learner Loan. Diploma in Bricklaying Level 2 page: bursary offered to all eligible 16-19-year-olds.
