Course Details
Level 1: health, safety and welfare; technical information; construction technology; block, brick and cavity walling; setting out for basic masonry structures; mixing of construction materials. Level 2: half-brick and one-brick walling; piers, copings and cappings; blockwork; cavity walling; jointing and pointing; damp-proof courses; wall ties and insulation; door and window openings; basic arch construction. English and Maths, work experience and enrichment.
Duration
Level 1: 1 Years full time. Level 2: 1 Years full time.
Entry Requirements
Level 1: two GCSEs at grade 2 and above, together with a keen interest in brick laying. Level 2: four GCSEs at grade 4/C or above including English and Maths with a keen interest in bricklaying.
