Course Details
Level 2 study programme builds on Level 1 skills: health and safety, mixing and bedding, walling details and ground work; measuring, estimating, drawing plans, laying bricks and blocks. Topics: H&S; principles of welfare; principles of working in construction; setting out buildings; building solid walls and piers; building cavity walls. Adult beginners: select tools and materials; workshop H&S; handle mortar and construct basic masonry structures. Award: Level 1 Construction Skills Award in Bricklaying (6219-City and Guilds).
Duration
Level 2: 1 Year full-time. Beginners Level 1: 12 Weeks (Tue 15 September 2026 - 8 December 2026, 17:30-20:30).
Entry Requirements
Level 2: 4 GCSEs at grades 3 or above including English language and maths AND an achievement on a relevant Level 1 course. Beginners Level 1: minimum of 3 GCSEs at grade 2 including Maths and English language. Safety footwear required; relevant work experience expected on Level 2.
