Hands-on brickwork in industry-standard construction workshops. Skills include conducting site surveys; planning construction projects; precise measuring; mixing cement and mortar; laying bricks; laying breeze blocks; pointing techniques; problem solving on-site; working to deadlines; teamwork; communication; green technologies (insulation values, soundproofing, thermal qualities and renewable energies). Additional skills from across automotive, construction and building services and a workshop licence. Work experience is a mandatory element. Site visits and guest speakers from local contractors. Student testimonial refers to progression through Level 1 to Level 3 Brickwork.
