Course Details
NPA: half-brick walling; one-brick walling; cavity walling; block walling; simple arch construction; simple decorative brickwork. MA: SVQ3 SCQF Level 6 apprenticeships; typical college attendance Year 1 block release approx. 19 weeks; Year 2 approx. 11 weeks; Years 3-4 1 week plus Skills Test. Purpose-built workshops; decorative brickwork and safe use of hand-tools.
Duration
NPA: 1 year full-time. MA: typically 2-4 years.
Entry Requirements
NPA (Planit/My World of Work listings of SLC course): no formal entry requirements, skills assessment and interview; or Introduction to Construction SCQF 4 or prior workplace experience. MA: apprentice must be 16 or over and in full time employment.
