Course Details
Level 1 intermediate diploma: introduction to the brickwork trade, H&S, setting out, laying brickwork and blockwork, mortar mixing and jointing, manipulating brickwork including curved walls and arches. Level 2: safe working practices, information quantities and communication, methods of construction, setting out, thin joint masonry and masonry cladding, solid walling, cavity walling.
Duration
Level 1 and Level 2: 1 year full-time, generally 3-4 days per week (per course pages).
Entry Requirements
Level 1: GCSE grade 3 or above in English OR maths; 3 other GCSEs at grade 2 or functional skills level 1 (per course page). Level 2: 4 GCSEs at 3 or above including English and maths; information session (per course page).
