Course Details

Level 2 bricklaying course designed in partnership with the construction skills sector; theoretical knowledge and practical skills including building cavity walls. Predominantly for 16-18 with a limited number of spaces for 19+. Level 1 covers brick and block laying techniques, mortar mixing, material handling, cavity wall construction, setting out basic masonry structures, damp proofing, health and safety. Apprenticeship typically 24 months.

Duration

Bricklayer Level 2 apprenticeship: typically 24 months to complete. Brickwork Level 1 and Level 2: Full-Time.

Entry Requirements

Brickwork Level 2: Four GCSEs at grade 3 or above, including English and maths at grade 3 or Functional Skills Level 1; or a relevant Level 1 course and Functional Skills Level 1 in English and maths; interview at enrolment. Brickwork Level 1: Four GCSEs at grade 2 or above, including English and maths recommended.
