The North West’s construction industry just got a major shot in the arm, as housing consortium JV North has appointed 17 contractors to deliver a massive £475 million housing framework.
The deal will see the creation of around 3,000 new homes over the next few years, along with conversions and affordable housing upgrades — meaning plenty of work ahead for bricklayers, roofers, carpenters, and other trades.
Who’s in?
The winning contractors span all project sizes:
Up to £4 million jobs: GK Construction, M&Y Maintenance, Casey Group, Whitfield & Brown, and more.
£4 million–£12 million: Seddon, Rowlinson, Vistry Partnerships, Watson Construction join the roster.
£12 million+: Big hitters like Eric Wright Construction, Breck Homes, Termrim, plus several from the lower tiers.
Why it matters for the trade
This framework isn’t just a headline figure — it’s a steady pipeline of site work for years to come. With the demand for skilled bricklayers still high, this could mean plenty of local job opportunities, apprenticeships, and subcontract packages across the region.
A spokesperson for JV North said the framework will help speed up delivery of high-quality housing while supporting the local economy and supply chains.
Bricklayers Online will be keeping a close eye on tenders and packages as they’re released — so if you’re a brickie in the North West, now’s the time to make sure your CV and contacts are ready.
